The Department of Cognitive Science at the University of California, San Diego http://www.cogsci.ucsd.edu/ invites applications for three (3) faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level (tenure-track) starting July 1, 2008, the salary commensurate with the experience of the successful applicant and based on the UC pay scale. The Department of Cognitive Science at UCSD was the first of its kind in the world, and, as part of an exceptional scientific community, it remains a dominant influence in the field it helped to create. The department is truly interdisciplinary, with a faculty whose interests span anthropology, computer science, human development, linguistics, neuroscience, philosophy, psychology, and sociology. The department is looking for several top-caliber junior researchers in cognitive science. Applicants must have a Ph.D. (or ABD). We seek applicants with a solid foundation in neuroscience and/or computation broadly construed, although a broad interdisciplinary perspective and experience with multiple methodologies will be highly valued.
